SIGN UP FOR LOWER GAS PRICES
Newt Gingrich has a petition drive going urging more exploitation of the domestic oil fields in and off the coast of the United States...not that we don't need alternatives, but right now, we need more supply of the fuel we use to meet demand and restrain price.

We recently attended a large West Texas BBQ for the 4th of July. Since we lived a mile and a half away, we drove our half ton '95 GMC ranch pickup. As I sat outside, I surveyed all the vehicles that were in the parking area. I was not surprised to note that all of the vehicles were 3/4 ton and above pickups, large SUV's, or large V-8 sedans. They were also all less than three years old. We were the exception. (BTW our other vehicle is an '01 9-3 Saab).
Though many complained about the high fuel prices, I doubt that the majority of these large vehicle owners would only sign Newt's petition if the drilling would be on their land.
I agree with you about the need for more nuclear power plants and I also agree with T Boone Pickens ideas about wind energy.
I listen every day.
